Sketch 101 Class
Your Ideas Just Got LIT!
Have you ever watched Saturday Night Live and thought that you could write something funnier? Ever think to yourself that you have the funniest idea, but you just don't know how to write it? In this course, you'll learn the basics of sketch writing and the different types of sketches. You'll learn how to take your own observations and truths and turn them into fully written sketches. You'll also learn the mechanics of LIT's philosophy in the writers room -- every joke can work, and we're all more successful when we're positive, supportive and constructive.
Each student will also receive the opportunity to have their sketch read to an audience as a staged reading performed by the class at a LIT show on a Wednesday at 8 pm in Adams Morgan. Nothing is more rewarding than hearing the first laughs to something you wrote.
